Telangana Rebellion history of Nalgonda District

" బండెనుక బండి కట్టి… ".
'సుట్టుముట్టూ సూర్యపేట, నట్టనడుమ నల్లగొండ నువ్వుండేది హైద్రబాదు దాని పక్క గోలుకొండ'.....

Nalgonda District has a major role in the Telangana Rebellion. Much of the struggle revolves round Nallagonda and Warangal districts alone and later spread to other regions as well. Almost all the villages in the district were involved in this. the movement was led by Andhra Maha Sabha and Communists. Marshall Law was imposed in the Dist. in 1946. Many people were killed by Razakars or by feudal lords goons and Nizam's armies. Some 3000-5000 villages were liberated and self governing bodies were formed. Lands were distributed among the poor. Many feudal landlords " Jagirdaars " were killed or ripped of their properties. Battles raged between Communists and Razakars( and Nizam's armies ).Finally this ended with Indian Forces " Police Action " and Telangana along with Hyderabad state is merged in to Indian Union. Many leaders like Raavi Narayana Reddy, Mallu Swarajyam( woman revolutionary ) and her husband, Arutla Ramachandra Reddy and his wife, Bandi Yadagiri, Suddala Hanumanthu, etc. played an important role in the movement. The district's(peoples) part in the rebellion is even immortalized in the poetry of the Movement which were popular then. These were used as a means to enlighten the common people about the revolt and its leaders. one such poem by Bandi Yadagiri, who penned the famous song " బండెనుక బండి కట్టి… ".
'సుట్టుముట్టూ సూర్యపేట, నట్టనడుమ నల్లగొండ నువ్వుండేది హైద్రబాదు దాని పక్క గోలుకొండ'.....

Great Culture of Telangana

Jai Telangana...Telangana Folk songs( Bandenaka Bandi Katti song by Bandi Yadgiri in 1940's)
are really inspiring. We should feel proud of our culture. our old culture is been lost by the andhra dominance and also our own telangana guys are feeling our slang and culture as unacceptable.I love my village, I Love Telangana, I love my culture, I love my language
It is sad that telangana youth don't take pride in their own dialect or culture. It makes me angry these kids think telangana language is less socially acceptable. It is extremely rare to see any andhra immigrant living in telangana 2 generations talking in telangana dialect? I am not against andhra people, but please take pride in your origins.
what ever it is if you do not take pride in your culture you are lost.

Be proud of our culture and our festivals.
Jai TELANGANA
Jai Jai TELANGANA!

జై తెలంగాణ ! జై జై తెలంగాణ !
నా గానం,నా ఊపిరీ.. అన్నీ తెలంగాణమే.
My biggest complaint against this andhra government is that they have deprived a generation from knowing
thire our culture and history. The overzealous andhra leaders in order to promote their culture and an Andhra identity have forced their history down our throats.
Our struggles our heroes have always been different. Why would I be indebted to Prakasham Panthulu ( no disrespect towards them) or Potti Sreeramulu or SitaRamaRaju when thier struggle had nothing to do with mine.We should  have respect towards them as we should have for any leader at the National level (or other state personalites) be it Bhagat Singh or Azad but not more.
We have our own history and that struggle has produced great leaders. If we do not honour our heroes and culture no one will !!!

States Reorganisation Commission Report

Telangana people waited for development for last 50years... But nothing happened... In the 50years of united state, no single project is constructed in Telananga area (though godavari is flowing through 5districts of Telangana). It's the time for separation.

The existing Andhra State has faced a financial problem of some magnitude ever since it was created and in comparison with Telangana, the existing Andhra State has low per capita revenue. Telangana, on the other hand, is much less likely to be faced with financial embarrassment. The much higher incidence of land revenue in Telangana and excise revenue of the order of Rs 5 crore per annum principally explain this difference. Whatever the explanation may be, some Telangana leaders seem to fear that the result of unification will be to exchange some settled sources of revenue, out of which development schemes may be financed, for financial uncertainty similar to that which Andhra is now faced. Telangana claims to be progressive and from an administrative point of view, unification it is contended, is not likely to confer any benefits on this area.

When plans for future development are taken into account, Telangana fears that the claims of this area may not receive adequate consideration in Vishalandhra. The Nandikonda and Kushtapuram (Godavari) projects are, for example, among the most important which Telangana or the country as a whole has undertaken.

Irrigation in the coastal deltas of these two great rivers is however, also being planned. Telangana, therefore does not wish to lose its present independent rights in relation to the utilisation of the waters of Krishna and Godavari.

One of the principal causes of opposition of Vishalandhra also seems to be the apprehension felt by the educationally backward people of Telangana that they may be swamped and exploited by the more advanced people of the coastal areas. In the Telangana districts outside the city of Hyderabad, education is woefully backward.

The result is that a lower qualification than in Andhra is accepted for public services. The real fears of the people of Telangana is that if they enjoy Andhra they will be unequally placed in relation to the people of Andhra and in this partnership the major partner will derive all the advantages immediately, while Telangana, itself may be converted into a colony by the enterprising coastal Andhra.

‘The Telangana’ it has further been argued, can be stable and viable unit considered by itself. The revenue receipts of this area on current account have been estimated at about Rs 17 crore, and although the financing of Krishna and Godavari projects will impose a recurring burden on the new state by way of interest charges, the probable deficit, if any is unlikely to be large. In favourable conditions, the revenue budget may be balanced or indicate a marginal surplus.

This fairly optimistic forecast can be explained or justified by a variety of reasons.

One important reason is, of course, that the existing Hyderabad State and Telangana as part of Hyderabad have benefited considerably from the implementation of April 1952, of the Finance Commissions’ recommendations. The increase in Central payments from out of the divisible pools of income tax and central excise which has been possible under the present arrangements and the reduction in police expenditure for which the credit can be taken, as the situation in Telangana improves, more or less offset the loss on account of the abolition of internal customs duties, and if the scope which exists of raising the yield of certain State heads of revenue is fully explored, the financial position of Telangana need not cause anxiety.

The State of Hyderabad

The advantages of the formation of Vishalandhra are obvious. The desirability of bringing the Krishna and Godavari river basins under unified control, the trade affiliations between Telangana and Andhra and the suitability of Hyderabad as the capital for the entire region are in brief the arguments in favour of the bigger unit.

It seems to us, therefore, that there is much to be said for the formation of the larger State and that nothing should be done to impede the realisation of this goal. At the same time, we have to take note of the important fact that, while opinion in Telangana has still to crystallize itself. Important leaders of public opinion in Andhra themselves seem to appreciate that the unification of Telangana with Andhra, though desirable, should be based on a voluntary and willing association of the people and that it is primarily for the people of Telangana to take a decision about their future.

We understand that the leaders of the existing Andhra State may be prepared to provide adequate safeguards to protect the interest of Telangana in the event of its integration in Vishalandhra. These safeguards may take the form of a guarantee (presumably on the lines of Sri Bagh pact between Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra) of opportunities for employment for Telangana in the public services of the new State at least to the extent of one-third, that is to say, roughly in the proportion, and an assurance that particular attention will be paid to the development plans of this area.

We have carefully gone into the details of the arrangements which may be made on these lines, It seems to us, however, that neither guarantees on the lines of the Sri Bagh Pact nor constitutional devices, such as “Scottish devolution” in the United Kingdom, will provide workable or meet the requirements of Telangana during the period of transition. Anything short of supervision by the Central Government over the measures intended to meet the special needs of Telangana will be found ineffective, and we are not disposed to suggest any such arrangement in regard to Telangana.

A further point to be borne in mind is that the State of Andhra was brought into existence only recently and has still not got over the stress of transition. It has for example, still to formulate a policy on land reforms and the problems arising from the partition from the Composite State of Madras have, by no means, been tackled fully yet. Integration of Telangana with Andhra at this stage, is therefore, likely to create administrative difficulties both for Andhra and Telangana.

After taking all these factors into consideration we have come to the conclusions that it will be in the interests of Andhra as well if Telangana area is constituted into a separate State, which may be known at the Hyderabad State, with provision for its unification with Andhra after the general elections, likely to be held in or about 1961, if by a two-thirds majority the legislature of the residency of Hyderabad State expresses itself in favour of such unification.

The advantage of this arrangement will be that while the objective of the unification of the Andhra will neither be blurred nor impeded during a period of five or six years, the two governments may have stabilised their administrative machinery and, if possible, also reviewed their land revenue systems etc., the object in view being the attainment of uniformity. The intervening period may incidentally provide an opportunity for allaying apprehensions and achieving the consensus of opinion necessary for a real union between the two States.

If, however, our hopes for the development of the environment and conditions congenial to the unification of the two areas do not materialise and if public sentiment in Telangana crystallizes itself against the unification of the two states.

Telangana will have to continue as a separate unit.

The State of Hyderabad (as we would prefer to all this unit) to be constituted for the time being, should consist of the following districts, namely, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Hyderabad, Medak and Bidar and Munagaala enclave in Nalgonda district belonging to the Krishna district of the existing Andhra State.

Beware of Andhra Lobbys on 5th January 2010, Meeting to form Telangana State

Rosaish Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh as a common man I can easily understand that rosaish giving partiality to the Andhra people and their leaders. He is been always standing for his native region. If students in Osmania University students want to keep meeting they have to take permission of Chief Minister. If we people go to him for permission he lefts his hand by the name of Governor. Please think Telangana people never belief Andhra people because past always shown the ditching done by them on telangana region. Just go forward to past time

1. Brahmananda Reddi was summoned to Delhi in September 1971. Indira Gandhi told him: "Some people say you should resign." Brahmananda Reddi asked: "What is your view?" Then Indira Gandhi said: "I also feel you should quit." He resigned and P.V.Narasimha Rao succeeded him. But did not continued for a long time due to Andhra poltics.
2. Brahmananda Reddi issued orders to fire on our Telanagana people. He killed our more than 400 of our Telangana people.
3. Channa Reddy was CM in early 90’s but he could not succed due to politics of YS Rajshekar Reddy. (This Andhra people never wants telangana people to get in to power)
4. PV Narasimha Rao was PM in early 90’s chappals had been thrown on him by the supporters of YS Rajshekar Reddy.
5. In the 2009 assembly election of Andhra Pradesh, after the completion of election in telangana region, Y.S.Raja shekhar reddy has used un constitutional language on behalf of telanagana to get votes from Andhra and Rayalaseema Region . Then why should we belief this Andhra people.
6. CM Rosaish given complaint on IT Minister Komatreddy because his comments were against our honourable chief minister. But if same thing or much much more than that has been done by vijaywada MP Lagadapati Rajgopal, does CM closed his eyes or ears or whole of his sense organs or lost the power of gravity from Andhra people. Mr.Lagadapati has done infinte mistakes against congress, UPA govt, hurting the sentiments and emotions of common people in many ways,he used unconstitutional language towards Central Government he neither get any complaint from state or central govt or If even he can blame Home Minister nothing will happen nor anything has been done against MP Rayapati Samba Siva rao although he uses un constitutional language or blames central govt and UPA Govt of Congress (Because they are belong to Andhra Region they can do any thing but we Telangana people won’t because we are slaves before independence to the Nizam and after Independence slaves to this Andhra Region people)

Please I have some suggestion:
1. Be-aware of andhra lobbyists and YS jagan , KVP, Lagadapati Rajgopal. While in meeting on 5th January 2010 in Delhi . They can do lobbying or can do any thing to stop our Telangana
Just like done last time in 1969 , be careful please stay alert don’t get in to there magic of words . Always try to keep pressure on Central Govt . Show our power of telangana .
2.Meeting on 3 rd January , 2010 in Osmania University, be alert some people want to create some bad situation in the meeting and want to send bad message from our telangana side .

Don’t Ever Belif Andhra people even we get Telangana State. Always be alert from them they can go to any level to get what they want. They know the formula of divide and rule. Our telangana JAC need to take wide and carefull steps to keep on maximum pressure on govt and in mean while not breaking our unity in telangana with all parties.

“Our duty is to encourage every one in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth.”

“If faith in ourselves had been more extensively taught and practiced, I am sure a very large portion of the evils and miseries that we have would have vanished.”

Many reasons to form Telangana state

Some of them given below

following reasons.

1) Whenever the topic of Telangana is raised, many of us blindly support Andhra or Telangana based on where we come from. Not sure how many really think of why the demand for separate state has been there for such a long time. The 2 major reasons why the demand has been pending for so many years is WATER AND HYDERBAD. People around the state have earned and invested in and around Hyderabad so there is a concerns about the safety of the investment if the state is separated while both the major rivers in our state flow mostly through Telangana. Below are some facts that are few reasons for the demand. Sentiments can be foolish but not facts.

2) There are 10 districts in Telangana, 9 in Andhra and 4 in Rayalaseema. Out of these 7 districts in Telangana, 3 in Andhra and 1 in Rayalaseema are considered severely backward districts which means 70% of districts in Telangana are backward while in Andhra it is 35% and in Rayalaseema it is 25%. Apart from these there are some areas in all parts of the state which are also backward.

3) 45% of the state income comes from Telangana region. When it comes to utilization of funds, the share of Telangana is only 28%.

4) Normally canals are dug to supply water to the crops from rivers for cultivation. The amount of land cultivated through canals in just Guntur district is more than the land cultivated with canals in entire Telangana region.

5) Nagarjuna sagar dam is built in Nalgonda district which is in Telangana but majority of the water from the dam is used for Krishna and Guntur district. The original dam was supposed to be build much ahead of its present location but the location was changed so that it falls in the Telangana region. Due to the construction of the dam several hectares of Lime stone mines vanished as part of the dam back waters. Everyone know that lime stone is used for producing cement. Even the natural resources were not allowed to remain.

6) Fluorinated water problem is only in Nalgonda district which has not been resolved since decades.

7) Two major rivers Krishna and Tungabhadra enter the state of AP in the district of Mahaboobnagar(the biggest district in Telangana) but the district always remains the worst draught hit areas along with Anantapur because there is no project and process with which the water can be utilized. The plans for utilization has been pending for decades.

8) 3 TMC of water from Gandipet is sufficient to supply drinking water to our city. Every year 1700 TMC of water is wasted and is flown into Bay of Bengal from river Godavari. Starting from Nizambad to Bay of Bengal there is no project allowed to build on Godavari. If it is built leaders in Godavari districts fear that the fertile lands in the area may fall short of water. If the Godavari water is utilized properly, there will be no scarcity for food grains in our state.

9) In Telangana regions, only few areas cultivate one crop a year and very rarely two crops a year while most of the land doesn’t even cultivate single crop. In both the Godavari districts, Krishna and Guntur district, two crops a year is common and there are times where even 3 crops a year are cultivated. The only reason is WATER.

10)Government issue G.O.’s for implicating its decisions. G.O number 610 is the longest non implicated G.O in the history of AP. The G.O was issued in 1986 by late NTR who was then the CM of AP, which is not yet implicated. The G.O speaks about the share of Telangana employees in Government jobs in Telangana region.

11) 33% of the population in Mahaboobnagar district have left the district for livelihood to different parts of the state due to draught and majority of them are working as daily labour. No other district has so many people who fled the home place due to lack of livelihood and working as daily labour.

12) There are 25 plus government degree colleges in Krishna, Kadapa and Guntur district while there is not even a single government degree college in Ranga Reddy district.

13) In between 2005-2008 government sold lands worth Rs. 20000 crores in and around Hyderabad which was utilized to build projects in Rayalaseema and Andhra.

14) Not even a single project was completed in Telangana in the last 5 years while several projects were completed in Andhra and Rayalaseema.

Why Chenna reddy decieved Telangana People....

chenna reddy whos is member of Telengana
during gentlemens agreement hes also one fo the member from telangana
why he decieved ppl of telangana for wat purpose any resons friends
becoz of his greedyness many ppl lost thier lives for past 30 years

Its party called TPS, Telangana praja samithi. MPs from that party are Chenna Reddy, Venkat Swamy, M. Satyanarayana Rao and others. Indira gandhi Declared Telangana state but when she went back to delhi, Andhra leaders pressured her and pampered Chenna Reddy with CM post n Governor post etc.

EVER since Hyderabad became the capital of Andhra Pradesh in 1956, a number of professionals, film personalities, traders and businessmen from the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions have made it their home. The agitation for a separate Telengana State has caused apprehensions in them in view of the bitter memories of the 1969 Telengana agitation, which was marked by violence and the "go back to Andhra" call.

The roots of the agitation lie in a bitter power struggle in the Congress(I). After the 1967 general elections, Kasu Brahmananda Reddi became Chief Minister for a second time, while Dr. Marri Channa Reddy joined Indira Gandhi's Cabinet as Minister for Steel. Channa Reddy's election was set aside by a court on a petition filed by an Arya Samaj contestant, Vandemataram Ramachandra Rao, on the grounds that the Minister had appealed to religious sentiments at a meeting held in a mosque. Channa Reddy went in appeal to a Division Bench of the High Court and later the Supreme Court but lost the case. He was disqualified for six years from holding office.

Channa Reddy returned to Hyderabad a bitter man. Those were the days when an agitation for a separate Telengana State was taking shape as government servants who hailed from Telengana felt that they were being deprived of promotions by their colleagues from the Andhra region, who were integrated into the common cadre. Under the Mulki rules in force in the Nizam's old Hyderabad state, any person who had lived in Hyderabad for 15 years was considered a local. The employees from the Andhra region were thus to become 'Mulkis' by 1971. Employees from Telengana wanted quick action in order to ensure their promotions and to prevent competition from employees belonging to the Andhra region.

The agitation slowed down by 1970, but at the political level the TPS kept up the pressure. In the 1971 Lok Sabha elections, the TPS made its point when it won 10 of the 15 Lok Sabha seats from the Telengana region. It was clear that the time had come for Brahmananda Reddi to pack up. But he adopted an attitude of defiance, because the agitation had subsided and Channa Reddy did not look like a force any more. However, other factors forced Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to act. First, it was a tactless assertion by Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy, Finance Minister and a confidant of Brahmananda Reddi, on the floor of the Assembly that "no force on earth" could force the Chief Minister out as long as he enjoyed the support of the legislature. Secondly, Brahmananda Reddi provided wrong figures to Indira Gandhi about the collection of party funds. The Congress(I) collected Rs.5 per bag of rice sold by millers in Andhra Pradesh to rice-deficit States like Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Police officials across the four southern States simultaneously raided rice millers and traders to find out the extent of the funds collected, which was far higher than the figures provided by Brahmananda Reddi.

Soon Channa Reddy held an extended meeting of the TPS and dissolved the body. He was criticised as "betrayer". The "Sampurna Telengana Praja Samithi", which continued the agitation, failed to maintain the momentum. In the 1972 Assembly elections, the Congress(I), with the TPS back in its fold, won a record 218 seats, with 16 of its candidates winning without contest. The separatist forces failed to create any impact. This election was significant for another reason: none of the prominent Reddy supporters of Brahmananda Reddi was given the Congress(I) ticket.

Indira Gandhi put together a six-point formula to resolve the separatist question. This envisaged the division of the State into six zones. Government jobs below the first gazetted level and as well as seats in government colleges and universities were by and large reserved for "local" people from the five remaining zones had to compete for the 15 per cent "non-local" seats. This formula continues to be in force. Students from Andhra Pradesh are unable to compete in all-India medical entrance tests because to allow them that facility the Centre requires 15 per cent of seats in each medical college in the State to be set aside for meritorious students from all over the country, a condition the State cannot meet because of the six-point formula.

In 1971, Narasimha Rao started with a fund of goodwill, but he was indecisive: he made frequent trips to Delhi for instructions from the party high command. But when the Supreme Court upheld the Mulki rules, he stated that it gave "the finality" to the rights of the Telengana people. This sparked an agitation in the Andhra region for a "separate Andhra" as the people of Andhra protested against being treated as outsiders in their State capital. Narasimha Rao allowed his Cabinet to divide on the issue, with all the Andhra Ministers, including B.V.Subba Reddy and P. Basi Reddy, meeting in the chambers of the seniormost Minister, Raja Sagi Suryanarayana Raju, while the Chief Minister presided over a truncated Cabinet of Telengana Ministers. At a meeting M. Manik Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration, is said to have commented that "if Andhra Ministers want to leave, I will give them municipal lorries to carry their belongings." This comment created further bad blood.

The 100-odd Andhra MLAs met in Tirupati on December 31, 1972 and gave a call for an Andhra bandh and a 'no-tax' campaign. Narasimha Rao's continuance as Chief Minister became untenable, though his followers maintained that the "landlords of the Andhra region had ganged up to thwart the Land Reforms Bill Narasimha Rao had piloted in the Assembly." Narasimha Rao misjudged Delhi's mood so badly that he inducted eight new Ministers into his Cabinet on January 8, 1973 while a decision had already been taken by Indira Gandhi to put Andhra Pradesh under President's Rule. Harischandra Sarin, an Indian Civil Service officer, took over the administration. It was left to Jalagam Vengala Rao, who became Chief Minister in December 1973, to restore order in the State. Vengala Rao cemented the bonds among the Telugu-speaking people by holding the World Telugu Conference in Hyderabad in 1975.

At the height of the Telengana agitation in 1969, poet Sri Sri and eminent freedom fighter Vavilala Gopalakrishniah addressed an "integrationist" rally at Khammam even as agitators tried to disrupt it. Today, however, there is no one tall leader to speak up for the unity of the Telugu-speaking people
